Q&A sessions Studying in Europe and Studying outside of Europe
You can attend our online region-specific sessions to help you choose a destination. We will organise one session about studying in Europe, and one session about studying outside of Europe. We will tell you more about the specifics per region, so you can compare regions and see what fits your personal situation.
We will also answer any question that you might have, for instance about the educational system, culture, daily life, our partner universities and practical matters. The sessions will be held online and you can attend both of them if you like.
If you are not interested in these sessions, you can just answer 'No'. *
Information meeting Going on exchange with special needs
Would you like to know how you can prepare well for going on exchange with special needs and who you can reach out to when you need help? A special need could be ranging from dyslexia, mental health problems, a chronic illness, to a physical disability. Please join us for this session, in which we will also discuss who to contact in case you need assistance while studying abroad (and before departure) and which partner universities or countries are more suitable for students with special needs.
NB: this session will take place via Zoom. If you cannot make it to this session, but you still want to know more about this topic, just send an e-mail to outgoing@vu.nl. *
VU students abroad: student experience sessions
Are you wondering how students experience their exchange semester? Then join this online session and get first-hand information from other VU students who are currently studying abroad at one of our partner universities. You will also be able to ask them your own questions.
NB: the meetings will be online, since the students are studying all around the world at the moment. :) *
Information meeting How to finance your study abroad
What does an exchange cost? How does it work with tuition fees? Are there any scholarships available? Which destinations are expensive, and which are low-budget? Can I even afford to study abroad?
Join us for this online session, where we will talk about all of these questions (and more!). We will show you that we have destinations available for every budget!
NB: this session will take place via Zoom. *
Workshop How to choose your top 5
Are you not sure which partner universities you would like to apply for and which factors you should take into account when making this choice? Do you also want to make sure to choose strategically, so that you have a high chance of being selected during the first selection round? Then join us for this session, where we will talk about all the factors that should influence your decision-making so that you can be sure to select the right universities for your personal top 5.
Please note that we had to move this session to Friday. It will be an online session instead of an on=campus one. *
Summer schools: studying abroad for a shorter time
Join this online session to learn more about how you can combine an international experience with exciting learning possibilities during the summer months. VU has multiple partner universities where you get the chance to take summer school courses for extra credits abroad, within and outside of Europe. Summer schools are a great option if you would like to study abroad for a shorter amount of time, while still getting all the international experiences of a semester abroad.
NB: this session will take place via Zoom. *
Zoom Q&A session for Psychology students: Exchange and study delay
The VU academic advisors for Psychology are organizing a separate Q&A session about going on exchange as a psychology student. We encourage you to join this session, since we will talk about exchange and the possible study delay that you will have if you want to do a Master programme at VU.
NB: this is only an additional Q&A session, this session does not replace our general information session about studying abroad. *
