Visit the Study Abroad Weeks from 2 until 13 November 2026!
 

From 2 until 13 November we will organise the Study Abroad Weeks for second-year Bachelor students interested in spending a semester abroad during their third year. We also organise a dedicated information session for Master students.  
VU Amsterdam has partner universities in Europe, North America, South Africa, Oceania, Asia and Latin America. The Study Abroad Weeks are the start of what could be one of the most exciting and memorable experiences of your life! 
 
What to expect? 
• Information sessions about the application and selection procedure, including the opportunity to ask questions
• Information sessions about Studying in Europe and outside of Europe: what are the specifics per region?
• Student experience sessions with VU students that are currently on exchange!
• Information session How to choose your top 5
• Information meeting Going on exchange with special needs
• Information meeting How to finance your study abroad
• Summer schools session

After signing up for our Study Abroad Weeks, we will add you to our Canvas page Study Abroad Weeks 2026 on a weekly basis, starting from mid-October. On our Canvas page you will find everything you need to know about studying abroad, including factsheets per faculty and per exchange region! You can also already find more information about studying abroad on our webpage.

If you wish to apply for a semester abroad in 2027/2028, it is mandatory to attend our Study Abroad Weeks and read our Study Abroad Handbook carefully. The application deadline for studying abroad in the academic year 2027/2028 (first or second semester) is Thursday 14 January 2027 at 13h00. You can apply as of 1 December 2026 already.
